A pet-friendly staycation in Dubai is now giving back to animals in need.
In celebration of National Dog Day on 26 August, Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown has extended its Pet-Friendly Stay Experience until 31 August 2026. The initiative allows guests to enjoy a city staycation with their pets while directly supporting the work of Stray Dogs Center.
The hotel has confirmed that the full AED 200 pet supplement from every qualifying pet stay will be donated to the rescue organisation, helping fund the care, rehabilitation and wellbeing of abandoned and rescued dogs across the UAE.
Pet-friendly hotels are becoming more common across the UAE, but this initiative goes beyond simply allowing animals to stay.
Every booking made as part of the Pet-Friendly Stay Experience contributes directly to animal welfare. The AED 200 pet supplement is donated in full to Stray Dogs Center, turning each stay into an opportunity to support another animal’s recovery and future.
The experience is available until the end of August and has been extended to coincide with National Dog Day.

Guests travelling with their pets can enjoy a stay in the heart of Downtown Dubai, along with several pet-friendly amenities.
The experience includes:
The stay experience starts from AED 500, with the separate AED 200 pet supplement donated entirely to Stray Dogs Center.
At the heart of the initiative is Sawyer, Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown’s resident Wellness Supervisor.
Sawyer is a rescue Saluki who was previously cared for through Stray Dogs Center before joining the hotel in October 2025. Since then, he has become one of the property’s most recognisable team members.
He regularly welcomes guests, spends time with colleagues and acts as an ambassador for adoption, responsible pet ownership and second chances.
His story reflects the hotel’s wider commitment to supporting rescue animals and encouraging more people to consider fostering, adoption and local animal welfare initiatives.
Sawyer’s role at the hotel is more than symbolic.
According to the hotel, his calm and affectionate personality has had a positive impact on both guests and employees. Visitors often look for him during their stay, while team members describe him as a source of comfort, connection and positivity.
His journey from a rescued dog to a valued member of the hotel team demonstrates how adoption can transform not only the life of an animal, but also the community around them.
Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown’s relationship with Stray Dogs Center did not begin with this promotion.
The partnership developed after members of the hotel team fostered two abandoned Huskies during the summer until permanent homes were found for them.
That experience led to further support, including fundraising initiatives, linen donations, colleague awareness programmes and pet-friendly experiences designed to benefit rescued animals.
The extended stay initiative is the latest part of that ongoing relationship.
Rescue organisations across the UAE rely heavily on donations, volunteers, foster homes and community support.
By connecting a hotel stay with a direct donation, the initiative gives pet owners a simple way to enjoy a staycation while supporting animal welfare at the same time.
It also helps raise awareness around adoption and the number of animals still waiting for safe and permanent homes.
